Job Summary:

The Office of Informatics and Information Technology in the UW's School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) is seeking a Software Developer to support the applications. This position will initially be supporting the school's Department of Surgery, but could potentially move to serve other customers within SMPH. This position will be initially within the Surgery IT functional group as part of a team that works with mobile technologies in supporting our clinical, research and education missions. The successful candidate will be able to build an application from beginning to end and work with multiple stakeholders to achieve the desired functionality. This person will be able to apply their technical specific knowledge and skills to develop applications to help make our systems efficient and innovative.
The person working in this position can be fully remote but there are opportunities for a hybrid work arrangement if desired.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Significant experience in client-side web development, including React/React Native, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Significant experience with all aspects of mobile development, including full development life cycle for both iOS and Android.
- Experience in full-stack web development using Symfony and/or Ruby on Rails.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills, including documentation best practices.
- Willingness to be a team player in a highly skilled IT team.
Preferred:
- Experience in database design and data modelling. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Postgres and MySQL/MariaDB
- High level of comfort with Linux command-line
- Knowledge of CI/CD methodology and tools as well as QA analysis
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience building data pipelines, data transformations, data structures, metadata, dependency management, and integration of different systems


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location. An on campus work location will be provided should a candidate prefer to work fully or partially onsite.

Salary:

Minimum $70,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

The starting salary for the position is $70,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
