Software Developer II for User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX)

UTHealth Houston is looking for a UI/UX Software Developer II to work with our information technology department. This employee will elevate the user experience and technical capabilities by providing UI/UX design expertise and Full-Stack programming expertise. They need to be able to analyze data processing challenges in science, engineering, business, and other domains to craft innovative solutions that automate and enhance education, research, and business processes.

POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and implement sophisticated applications, application databases, and interactive Web interfaces focusing on UI/UX design, adhering to design specifications and departmental standards. Establish
comprehensive test plans, validate and verify functions, and prepare thorough documentation for seamless
implementation.
• Conduct client/user interviews to define problems and analyze user needs, applying advanced principles and
techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to ensure optimal UI/UX
experiences.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for application requirements, coding standards, and
operational procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency in development processes.
• Manage, revise, and update current application code or configuration, addressing troubleshooting, bug fixes,
and improvements to enhance overall functionality.
• Resolve issues arising in existing production applications, ensuring continuous optimization and seamless
user interactions.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned to contribute to the team's overall success and projects.


MINIMUM EDUCATION:
At least a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent four (4) years of relevant experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of hands-on experience in UI/UX design and Full-Stack programming.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
