Job Description

The Software Applications Developer II, under direction, performs complex and specialized software development support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, and enhance complex software applications and databases that automate business processes, streamline business operations, and improve efficiencies for Texas A&M University departments using Laserfiche ECM Software.
  • Develop specifications based on input from the customer, identify business processes, develop application requirements, and create design documents.
  • Design, develop, and document Laserfiche electronic forms and business processes.
  • Complete reports and summaries for management and users including project status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and metrics.
  • Serve as technical liaison to clients and vendors.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, training and support.
  • Write and modify Java Script, Structured Query Language SQL, Cascading Style Sheets CSS, Hypertext Markup Language HTML, and other scripting languages.
  • Use Microsoft SQL Server database and other relational databases.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     

Required Experience:

  • Three years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of SQL, JavaScript / jQuery.
  • Knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
