Job Overview

Responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.


Essential Functions
  • Work on moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects that require a single area of expertise. Participate in project planning processes.
  • Create and share development estimates and operational requirements to enable accurate planning with realistic timelines.
  • May serve as a liaison between client partners, BCS, and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address user needs. 
  • Write and communicate business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of client solutions. 
  • Analyze client operations, explore improvement opportunities, and assess client needs using a structured process.
  • Develop/build IT solutions to meet business requirements. Install and configure solutions. Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into test cases, test scenarios, and scripts. 
  • Develop and/or implement reusable components.
  • Maintain new and existing object reference files.
  • Create technical design specifications.
  • Perform script maintenance and updates. Perform ongoing routine application maintenance tasks. Assist in establishing requirements, methods, and procedures for routine maintenance.
  • Build and validate automated deployments using configuration management technology.
  • Deploy new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment. Review modules for quality assurance and work with Release Management to ensure modules are production ready. May assist in production support.
  • Evaluate existing applications and platforms. Provide recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications.
  • Assist in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
  • Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in applications, systems, or IT operations.
  • Working knowledge of two (2) or more programming languages.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Proficiency in ABAP programming language and development tools.
  • Understanding of S4 FI module functionalities, including customization, enhancement, and integration.
  • JavaScript experience (ideally Node.js).
  • Experience with CDS Views, OData Services, and Fiori application development (Fiori element, annotation, etc.).
  • Knowledge of web service / API development & support (SOAP, REST, OData).
  • Proficiency with IDEs such as Visual Studio Code (VSCode) and/or eclipse.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, XML, and CSS and their best practices.
  • Proficiency using Gitlab version control.
  • Experience with test-driven design and unit test tools (QUnit).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
