Job Summary:

The purpose of the Graduate Assistantship (GA) position is to offer expanded and enhanced resources, support and services for student academic success and emotional well-being. The GA will have a strong mentorship and accompaniment dimension so students have opportunities to conduct research, pursue professional development, or gain teaching experience with a faculty mentor. Each collaborating faculty-student team will have to follow a criteria and application process that ensures student development through the GA experience.

Full Job Description:

• The Graduate Assistant will work with a School of Education (SOE) faculty mentor in the area of research, teaching, or professional development in: International and Multicultural Education, Counseling Psychology, Learning and Instruction, Leadership Studies, Teacher Education
• The Graduate Assistantship will provide awarded students with the opportunity to engage in professional development, teaching, and/or research in furtherance of the university’s mission, as well as the student’s graduate education, working with a faculty member with expertise in the field of education
• The Graduate Assistantship application is open to School of Education students in good standing
• Work schedule is determined by GA and faculty mentor
• The maximum number of hours GA may work in one day is 7.5; the maximum number of hours GA may work in one week is 25 (domestic students) and 20 (international students)
• GA is required to complete all USFWorks/Workday tasks and be approved by Student Employment prior to beginning work with faculty mentor
• GA is required to submit an electronic time sheet twice each month and be approved by the faculty mentor to receive payment
• Final approval of the Graduate Assistantship is by the Dean of the School of Education
