This position will work alongside the Graduate & Undergraduate Coordinators to manage both virtual and in-person recruiting, development of recruitment materials, and to identify current students and alumni to provide support with recruiting efforts.
This position will travel to regional high schools, community colleges, universities, and conferences for recruitment opportunities in coordination with OU-Tulsa's Admissions and Recruitment office. You'll build a rapport with prospective students, high school and Community College advisors, and agencies that employ bachelor/master level mental health workers seeking further education.
This position will work to enhance diversity among students and manage the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work's website and social media platforms. This position will also work with School staff on the use of student management software systems. Other duties as required.
OU-Tulsa employees appointed to positions funded in part or in whole by a grant are expected to use all earned paid leave during the specified period of their appointment. The maximum amount of accrued but unused leave that will be paid out at the termination of employment is 40 hours.
Detailed Job Duties:
- Plays key role in recruitment for the Undergraduate and Graduate Social Work programs on the Tulsa campus
- Works alongside the Graduate & Undergraduate Coordinators to manage both virtual and in-person recruiting, development of recruitment materials, and to identify current students and alumni to provide support with recruiting efforts.
- Build rapport with prospective students, high school and Community College advisors, and agencies that employ bachelor/master level mental health workers seeking further education.
- Work to enhance diversity among students and manage the recruitment aspect of the Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work’s website and social media platforms. This position will also work with School staff on the use of student management software systems.
- Collaborate with ARREA committee to develop recruitment materials and identify and participate in initiatives to enhance diversity among students, assist with committee minutes as needed.
- Travel for recruitment to regional high schools, community colleges, and universities; possible travel to national conferences for recruitment and training opportunities.
- Foster relationship with prospective students.
- Coordinate with OU Tulsa recruitment.
- Collaborate with ARREA committee to develop recruitment materials and identify and participate in initiatives to enhance diversity among students, assist with committee minutes as needed.
- Coordinate with IT and work with staff on student management software and customer relationship management software
- Design and implement virtual recruitment practices and manage the Social Work website and social media platforms.
- Foster relationship with agencies, high schools and community college advisors and develop plans for recruitment and further education
- Build a recruitment network with current students and alumni.
- Develop & identify material for updates to the School’s website & social media (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube)
- Develop brochures/posters for all programs and centers
- Develop and distribute a weekly digest and a newsletter
- Create graphics for CSWE and SSWR annually
- Receive and track publicity releases from students
- Assist with the coordination of student retention events and other social events
- Other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
---
Required Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND
- 0-24 months expereince in student recruitment or student services
Skills:
Proficient navigating and maintaining databases
Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
Basic math skills
Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
Basic computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
General office skills such as reception; multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail preparation/sorting
Customer service skills
Video or audio editing skills
Certifications:
Must have a valid Oklahoma driver's license by time of hire, or the ability to travel by car for meetings and visits at schools, career fairs, etc.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Standard administrative office environment and exposure. The majority of work required by this position will be at a desk/computer workstation; however, up to 50% of the essential functions of this position will involve mobility (being able to move from one floor of campus building to another; being able to move from one building to another for meetings, being able to travel by vehicle to schools, career fairs, meetings, etc.)
