Established in 1957, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work (WSSW) offers a "methods-based" curriculum and concentrations in clinical casework, social group work and community social work/administration. POSITION: SOCIAL WORK PROFESSOR (Contract line, OPEN RANK) in the area of SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE, MENTAL HEALTH/CLINICAL PRACTICE/TRAUMA
EFFECTIVE DATE: January or September 2018
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
The Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York, NY seeks a contract faculty member (rank commensurate with qualifications) for MSW/DSW program.
- Teach social work research courses
- Student mentoring and advisement
- Engage in scholarly research and publication
- Participate in ongoing program assessment and curriculum development
- Serve on program, college, and university committees
All applications must include a letter of intent addressing the minimum and desired/preferred qualifications, statement of teaching philosophy and research focus, curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation and a writing example (copy of recent publications).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited social work program and a DSW or a Ph.D. in Social Work or a doctoral degree in a related field; strong potential for excellence in teaching (classroom and on-line), and an ability to teach Practice and areas of Health Care and Mental Health. The candidate must articulate a clear, focused research agenda with plans for external funding.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: University teaching experience and a record of scholarly publications and successful grant activity, a demonstrated commitment to working with a thriving and diverse MSW/PhD student body and a faculty who values faculty governance and community partnerships.
