The Staff Assistant role supports the Social Simulation Center by providing support for simulation events. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, working alongside the Social Simulation Coordinator in the coordination, planning & implementation of social simulation events, specifically including: pre-simulation set up and coordination, simulation facilitation, simulation recording, and simulation video upload. Staff assistant will learn quickly and adapt to the changes associated with a rapidly-growing simulation program that has maintained virtual simulation only since the beginning of the pandemic. Saturday and evening hours will be required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and schedule of social simulation events.
  • Updates Social Simulation Calendar, Secure location and coordinate set-up
  • Pre-simulation set up and coordination.
  • Manage supplies and equipment for simulations. (i.e. simulation kits, props and laptops) 
  • Collaborate with Contract/Grant Coordinator and Simulation Center Coordinator to review, interview and hire Standardized Participants.
  • Coordinate evaluations and pre & post surveys.  
  • Simulation video upload

This position is on the Tulsa campus.  

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 12 months office, clerical or administrative support experience.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of office procedures.
  • General office and customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for prolonged periods.  Communicate effectively and listens.  Engage in repetitive motion.  Use of computer and telephone.  Stand, stoop, bend, and reach. Standard office environment.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Prefer Associates degree and 18-36 months office experience OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience totaling 36 months of office experience.
  • Simulation experience or Zoom experience strongly preferred.
