Job Description:

To perform responsible research and administrative work involving complete responsibility for research projects. Responsible for the complete planning and scheduling of research projects and assignment of projects to staff members. Performs complete planning of research projects to be undertaken and allocates research assignments. Supervises, checks and advises the staff on progress of research work assigned from commencement through distribution of published results. Supervises organization of research facilities. Supervises and administers pre- service and in-service training programs conducted by the organization. Supervises the inquiry and consulting services provided by the organization for interest groups on and off the campus, relating to the kind of research performed. Confers with officers of various public and private organizations and institutions to discuss problems in their field requiring research or which may be the subject of current research. Conducts original research of an advanced nature in a specialized field either on an individual basis or in collaboration with other staff members or other research groups. Writes reports on the results of the individual research findings. Performs related duties as required. May make public appearances and address professional or civic organizations and other interested groups. May supervise the business and personnel operations of the particular research area.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and develop SAS programs and databases
  • Conduct sampling for survey administration
  • Respond to member colleges’ requests for data analysis, including weighting
  • Perform statistical analyses and summarize results
  • Participate in writing national reports
  • Present findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications
  • Participate in item development and survey updates


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a social science field earned from an accredited university with an emphasis on research methods and quantitative research, or a combination of a master’s degree with an emphasis on research methods and quantitative research and four (4) years of social science research experience
  • Two (2) years of experience with SAS programming including demonstrated advanced skills using SAS BASE, data step programming, SAS Macros, and ODS
  • Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAS/Intrnet, SAS Graph, ODS Graphics, ODS Layout, and Proc Report
  • SAS advanced programming certification
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Basic knowledge of (familiarity with) Python or R
  • Basic understanding of computing in a cloud environment
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with community colleges
