Description of Work

The Marketing/Communication Office at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School is seeking a social media coordinator for a temporary position. Working with the Mar/Com team and communication professionals in the School, the coordinator will create and execute a social media strategy to market the School and engage with and key audiences. The coordinator will write, develop and share content that that attracts students and executives to our programs by showcasing the School and its faculty, students, alumni and programs. The ideal candidate will have professional experience in social media and excellent writing skills.

Principal Functions:
• Expand a community presence on the School’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and engage in ongoing conversations on the channels
• Work with other content creators in Mar/Com and the School to develop and implement integrated social media initiatives
• Monitor conversations on social media channels about the School and share observations
• Assist in writing, editing and posting content for the School website

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Requirements:
• Professional experience in social media
• Extensive knowledge of social media tools, especially LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogging
• Proficient in the best practices of social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram (including Stories) and YouTube
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to both collaborate and work independently

Preferred:
• Graphic design and photography skills
• Familiarity with web analytics and monitoring tools, Hootsuite analytics and native platform analytics for monthly reporting
