Pay range: $36,512K - $67,808K (salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience)

Job Summary:

The Program Specialist II, under general supervision, performs specialist duties for a department, college, or division. In this case, the job will entail creating, maintaining, and growing multiple social media channels and other communication strategies for TTI’s Youth Transportation Safety Program.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop, implement, and manage assigned TTI program’s organic social media strategy to build and engage with our target audiences. Create and manage assigned program’s social media content production calendar. Create and manage assigned program’s channel postings, utilizing latest trends and platform features. Monitor brand mentions and respond to inbound messages and cultivate a community of youth traffic safety advocates. Responsible for overall growth of channels, utilizing analytical tools and trends. Ensures accuracy of input for required social media reports. Must be willing to provide support in live social events as a moderator and at events/conferences. (60%)

  • Graphic and Video: Develops and works with appropriate staff on creating social media and other online and in-house print assets. (20%)

  • Writing: Assists in writing content for brochures, flyers, newsletters, emails, presentations, and web. (10%)

  • Other duties as assigned. (10%)

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2 years of experience in communications, preferably in public health, research and/or nonprofit settings.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven proficiency with graphic design in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or other graphic design and editing software.

  • Verified capability with conceptualizing, implementing, and tracking social media content and strategies.

  • Solid understanding of marketing functions and social media platforms (technologies).

  • Familiarity with social listening and scheduling software (prefer Hootsuite).

  • Media analytic platforms (prefer native channel tools, Google Analytics, and Hootsuite).

  • Mobile video recording and editing skills.

  • Word processing.

  • Works well independently and as a team.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Self-motivated and resourceful.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in communications, preferably in public health, research and/or nonprofit settings.

  • Proven experience in managing and growing social media channels utilizing the most current trends and channel tools.

  • Database applications.

  • Experience with communicating with teen and young adult audiences on various channels.

  • Experience in a health education, community outreach, or research field.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Some photography experience preferred.
