Job Summary:

Wisconsin Athletics is looking for a Social Media Content Producer. The ideal candidate will be a creative, forward and brand centered producer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adaptable to change. This position combines a passion for video content creation and the ability to deliver engaging and relevant social media content that showcases and promotes UW's student-athletes and the department's mission.
The key responsibilities for this role at Wisconsin Athletics include:
- Shoot, edit and produce short/long form video content for Wisconsin Athletics owned digital channels
- Produce digital video content that supports social media, marketing, recruiting, ticketing, development and other department needs
- Attend live events and produce social content in-game
- Assist other internal units with various video content projects
- Collaborate with other internal units to ensure brand voice and consistency
- Contribute to content strategy development
- Create videoboard content to support gameday presentation
- Provide insight to push the department forward with emerging trends in social, digital media, as well as in-venue entertainment


Responsibilities:
Creates and promotes digital content and organizes staff workflows for one or more identified digital platforms in a specified medium to communicate content and increase audience engagement.
  • 40% Writes, edits, publishes, and integrates content on digital platforms that engages with audiences, including interviewing sources, researching topics, and assembling relevant multimedia elements
  • 30% Facilitates and secures resources for digital content creation workflow within a work unit or project and collaborates with other teams on both long-term and short-term multimedia projects
  • 20% Participates in the development and conceptualization of strategies for one or many identified digital platforms
  • 10% Trains staff on digital concepts, strategies, and techniques

Education:

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3-years' experience successfully working in a creative production environment
- Minimum 3-years' experience in developing creative social content that has driven engagement and results
- Proficient knowledge of video editing/production and videography
- Demonstrated experience creating platform specific video content
- Basic understanding of how all social platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and their communities work, including emerging platforms
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proven ability to collaborate with other content creators and stakeholders
- Creative and strategic in nature with the ability to think outside the box and articulate "big ideas"
- Prefer experience in sports industry, ideally in college athletics
- Prefer experience with motion graphics creation


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $50,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
