Position Summary
Under guidance, provide administrative and logistical support for federally awarded projects and activities for NIH-funded grants in the Department of Neurology (PI: Priya Palta). The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team to assist with multiple projects investigating vascular contributions to age-related changes in cognitive and physical function, subclinical cerebrovascular disease, and dementia conducted in several large cardiovascular epidemiology cohorts, including, the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study, the Jackson Heart Study, and the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis, among others. The candidate will gain research and/or training experience in cardiovascular epidemiology and neuroepidemiology with the opportunity to enhance skills in data collection, data entry, data analysis, and overall conduct of epidemiologic studies from the initial grant submission to scientific output.
Job Responsibilities:
* Assist with administrative support for research protocol development, updating and developing standard operating procedures, maintaining and revising study operations manuals and study forms.
* Conduct data entry.
* Assist with IRB submissions and renewals.
* Assist with grant and manuscript submissions including formatting, bibliography, requests for letters of support, table or figure creation and/or formatting.
* Participate in study meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
* Conduct literature reviews and basic data analyses in STATA or related statistical software.
* Collaboration on scientific manuscripts and reports.
* The hired candidate will work closely with Dr. Palta’s Research Program Manager to manage all aspects of funded projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

* Effective communication and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
