Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 3 YEARS.
The Research Specialist position will work with study teams including investigators, project director, project manager, and research assistants to ensure research protocols and procedures are developed and implemented to achieve successful completion of study aims. This position will be responsible for coordinating, performing, or assisting with all study activities within the Participant Engagement Research Collaboration (PERC) Unit. These activities may include protocol development, IRB submissions, development of standard operating procedures, data cleaning and coding, database development and management, medical record data collection and biologic specimen collection and processing. This position operates with autonomy and requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the PI’s, department staff, project leadership, and study staff on assigned projects. This position will also assist in the development, evaluation, and management of research guidelines and serve as the main contact for the assigned studies and must troubleshoot any issues that arise. The position also serves as subject matter expert on protocol development, IRB, and participant consent.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience in Population Based Epidemiology Research Studies. 
* Experience working with study team(s) to ensure successful completion of study activities. 
* Understanding of data collection and data management activities including use of study databases and data event structures in coordination of study activities.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively organize multiple study activities in a coherent and efficient manner.
* Experience with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
* Experience with electronic data reporting.
