Department Description
The mission of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is to serve the people of North Carolina, the southeast and the nation as a center for excellence in clinical care, education, research, and scholarship in the care of persons with physical disabilities.
The mission of the Program on Integrative Medicine (PIM), Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, UNC School of Medicine, is to integrate effective alternative and complementary therapeutic approaches into health-care practice by promoting research, education, clinical activities, and community collaboration within the School of Medicine, and throughout the University and the State. PIM hosts an NIH T32 Research Fellowship in Complementary and Integrative Health and has an active research program in complementary and integrative health.

Position Description
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and support a clinical research project in integrative health within PIM. The position involves planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating clinical and associated research. The Research Assistant is expected to work closely with the investigators and Project Manager in recruitment of study participants, data collection, and in the planning and implementation of associated research projects. The Research Assistant will conduct literature reviews, assist with data analysis, and will prepare regular reports related to the progress of the research.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Basic knowledge of research principles and methods of data entry, collection, and analysis to complete assignments. The candidate must be comfortable interacting with research participants by telephone or telecommunication software. The candidate must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in integrative health research and use of research databases (REDCap) preferred.
