Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The NC AHEC Program provides and supports educational activities and services with a focus on primary care in rural communities and those with less access to resources to recruit, train, and retain the workforce needed to create a healthy North Carolina. We envision a state where every North Carolinian is healthy and supported by an appropriate and well-trained health workforce that reflects the communities it serves.
Position Summary
This position will support and help manage our statewide AHEC Student & Preceptor Service line. This includes 3 main areas (Student Housing, Nursing Grants and Psychiatry Resident Supervision Payments) and 2 other programs (the Consortium for Clinical Education & Practice (CCEP), and the NC Alliance for Health Professions Diversity, which is an advisory and collaborating partner with the AHEC Health Careers and Workforce Diversity service line.
 
 * AHEC student housing is short-term lodging for health science students who are completing community-based rotations in NC. We provide over 50,000 nights of housing per year in 60+ towns across NC. https://www.ncahec.net/student-services/student-housing/
 * AHEC Nursing Grants: Clinical Training Site Development & Educational Mobility Grants. 
 * Psychiatry Resident Supervision Payments: Ensuring residents are adequately supervised by providing payment to qualified supervisors in community settings.
 * Alliance for Health Professions Diversity: A state-wide organization that serves to empower, enhance and improve diversity of the health professions through strategic and collaborative partnerships https://ncahpd.org/
 * Consortium for Clinical Education and Practice (CCEP, https://www.wakeahec.org/hctriangeclinical.htm) – to improve the standardization and efficiency of the student onboarding process across all health care training sites in NC.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Working knowledge of database, excel and general IT skills. 
Strong organization skills and ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate reports for billing & invoicing purposes. 
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. 
Effective communication skills virtually and in-person.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer candidates with a minimum of two years’ experience in related work duties.
