Position Summary
This posting is for a Research Assistant in the Center for Aging and Health. Under general supervision,  this position will perform qualitative research activities to support a grant-funded project. The proposed study will examine the burden of geriatric impairments in older adults with previously treated multiple myeloma. The study will use dyadic interviewing to elicit the illness and treatment experiences of older adult patients with multiple myeloma and their care partners. The majority of study participants to be recruited will be from underrepresented racial backgrounds. Candidates for this position should possess excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills and be familiar with qualitative study methods and qualitative data analysis. 
Position Duties:
1.       Assist with participant selection, study consent, and recruitment 
2.       Schedule dyadic semi-structured interviews
3.       Conduct semi-structured interviews 
4.       Create post-interview memos  
5.       Assist with the distribution of incentives to study participants
6.       Review audio recordings and transcripts as needed to ensure accuracy and quality of textual data. 
7.       Code and analyze textual data independently or collaboratively. 
8.       Synthesize data and write reports, independently or collaboratively. 
9.       Develop diagrams, figures, and other data visualization graphics
10.   Participate in manuscript preparation
11.   Track and log time spent on the project for billing purposes. 
12.   Participate in weekly team meetings 
13.   Complete ongoing qualitative research training and skill development activities, as needed. 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
