Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit | The Graduate School performs all administrative functions related to graduate studies at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Almost 25% of all students at UNCG are graduate students, and 23% of all degrees earned have been at the graduate level. The Graduate School is responsible for creating and maintaining the official graduate student database within the Universitiy’s Banner Student Information System for access by all other concerned units on campus. All admissions, activities, and issues related to enrolled students, clearance for graduation, assistantships, fellowships, scholarships, health insurance, and awards are administered by the Graduate School. Recruitment of new students and marketing of programs is accomplished through the leadership of The Graduate School and in collaborative efforts with departmental personnel. |
Position Summary | Slate is the CRM that the Graduate School uses to manage all aspects of the prospective student/applicant experience. This position provides primary Slate training and support to the Graduate School, programs, and departments across campus in relation to graduate education. This includes but is not limited to managing weekly Slate reports for each unit on application pipelines that are delivered to Associate Deans; facilitating Graduate School communications with prospective students admitted students, and enrolled students through email and text campaigns; and writing queries and reports within Slate to provide data to make decisions regarding recruitment and enrollment. The Graduate School also uses Slate for the fellowship awards process, the graduate student teaching assistant credentialing process, and the graduate assistantship award process. This position maintains records of technological assets and helps the Dean plan for technology needs, maintains and runs regular reports, builds new reports on demand, advises of observed trends, builds reports to track the efficacy of campaigns, and maintains the Graduate School web and social media presence. This position meets regularly with other Slate users and UNCG and collaborates with Enrollment Communications on their work marketing graduate programs. This position has a dotted-line report to ITS.
