Overview of the Simulation Center: The School of Nursing Simulation Center is a 7500 square foot space with 3 simulation labs, two large skills labs, 4 exam rooms, and additional debriefing spaces. Our programs provide students with the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into safe clinical experiences using realistic patient scenarios. The UW SoN Simulation Center supports undergraduate and graduate students with hands-on skills training and simulated “real-life” experiences, enhancing their confidence and providing real-time human and technological feedback about the development of their psychomotor, assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and diagnostic skills.

The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Simulation Educator.  The Simulation Educator is responsible for ensuring evidence-based clinical standards and simulation best practices are reflected in all simulation activities in the Simulation Center. Under the guidance of the Simulation Center Director and the Assistant Director, the Simulation Educator collaborates with faculty to design and facilitate simulation activities using best practice methods in all settings such as virtual, face to face, online, etc.

The Simulation Educator collaborates with faculty and Simulation Center Staff to provide students with simulated “real-life” experiences to develop assessment, practice, and diagnostic skills. Through that collaboration, the Simulation Educator operationalizes the clinical simulation teaching experience in the School of Nursing by providing simulated clinical activities to facilitate the success of all students in a safe learning environment. This position is integral to the Center's success and vital to the School's mission and strategic goal to educate nursing professionals, improve the quality and safety of patient care, and achieve the best possible outcomes for the citizens of the State of Washington. This position reports to the UW School of Nursing Director of Simulation.

This position requires the flexibility to work evenings and weekends occasionally when around course schedules.  Most work will be onsite working with students in the simulation center, although there is the opportunity for some remote work when working on course design and attending meetings via Zoom or Teams.
