Job Summary

JOB OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the director of facilities, the principle automotive equipment operator or Shuttle Driver will operate a variety of passenger vans/shuttle buses throughout the City and County of Fresno. The primary purpose of the position is to safely transport staff, faculty, and students who are required to travel between training sites to fulfill their work and school related obligations.

Required Qualifications

• Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Class C driver's license with no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses
• Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Class B driver’s license with Passenger Endorsement, Air Brakes Endorsement, and medical certification or ability to obtain a Commercial Class B license within 9-12 months of employment
• One year of experience in the operation of commercial automotive equipment
• Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good oral and written communication skills

Note: Physical/health screening required.


Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of driving experience
• Knowledge of commercial professional passenger-transport licensing
• Formal training and experience in a certified defensive training program, such as Smith System
• Demonstrated experience driving a commercial passenger vehicle in a large, urban setting


License/Certification

• Valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Class C driver's license with no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses
