Shuttle Driver/Maintenance Associate - PT

Berkeley College is currently seeking a part-time Shuttle Driver/ Maintenance Associate to work on-site in Woodland Park, NJ. The part-time Shuttle Driver/ Maintenance Associate will participate in efforts to ensure the facility is operational and be able to drive a 15-passenger shuttle van.  Other duties as assigned at the direction of the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

Shuttle Driver Job Requirements:

  • Ability to drive a large size 15 passenger van to transfer students to and from campus to Paterson, NJ  train station and/or Newark Penn Station.
  • Able to drive cargo van when needed to transfer items between campuses (no commercial license needed).
  • Driver’s license in good standing.
  • Favorable driving record.
  • Ability to travel between campuses in New Jersey and New York City as needed.
  • Maintain van maintenance logs, routine fluid checkups and interior cleanliness of van.
  • Able to work Monday to Thursday 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Fridays 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Open campus with team members. 

Maintenance Associate Job Responsibilities (when not driving shuttle vans).

  •  Basic computer skills.
  •  Ability to use electrical and mechanical equipment.
  •  Ability to move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  •  Ability to use basic hand power tools.
  •  Able to work a flexible schedule when possible.
  •  Able to come in during inclement weather to maintain facility with team members including snow events.
  •  Ability to work in a team environment.
  •  Maintain cleanliness of facility.
  •  Help maintenance staff do event setups.
  •  Change ceiling tiles, light bulbs, light painting, light maintenance work, 
  •  Light plumbing (unclogging toilets, changing batteries in bathroom equipment like touchless flush valves, automatic faucets and dispensers). 

 High School Diploma or GED (5 plus years’ experience in maintenance operations can be substituted).
