Brief Summary of Work for this Position
Technology Assistance Center (TAC) Temporary Technical Staff
This position will provide front line technical support for faculty, staff and students at the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) and should have a combined skill set of technical and customer service abilities.
Duties will be performed on campus at the Technology Walk-in Center and will include in-person support as well as assisting clients via live chat and telephone. Applicants will need to be able to quickly learn support techniques for various platforms that the university utilizes such as Canvas, Team Dynamix and Banner; and should already be proficient with Office 365 software, various operating systems, internet browsers settings, and system troubleshooting such as WiFi and VPN. Hardware experience and/or familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
Having the ability to professionally communicate both verbally and written with clients is a must. Position will work closely with our TAC student work force at the Walk-in Center and must feel confident with the ability to teach and mentor them regularly as they assist clients.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Experience providing customer service while resolving technical issues

  • Experience with an Incident Management ticketing system

  • Proficiency with providing Office 365 technical support

  • Ability to provide level 1 troubleshooting for network connectivity issues

  • Ability to provide level 1 technical support for MAC and Windows operating systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

Please note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
