Reporting to the Director of the Statistical Analysis Center SAC, Department of Biostatistics and the Lead Strategic Information SI Advisor, PHIA Project, the Student Intern is responsible for supporting the PHIA Project with a range of statistical tasks, Statistical Analysis Plan SAP development, SAP execution, data analysis, SAS programming, SAS programming validation, Standard Operating Procedure SOP development and may act as a statistical methods consultant. The Lead SI Advisor will prioritize tasks and assignments for the student, who will contribute to the smooth operation of the PHIA Project and timely completion of important tasks. The student will also perform additional duties for the project as needed.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:
-Produce table shells and run statistical tests specified in Statistical Analysis Plans SAPs
-Write SAS statistical programs
Validate SAS statistical programs
-Review statistical results and SAS programs for inconsistencies
-Assist with dataset cleaning and data management
-Conduct data analyses and exploratory analyses
-Respond to communications for programming and statistical tasks
-Summarize data in written formats
-Support SOP development
-Other duties as assigned  
- Requires a bachelor's degree
-MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
-Data analysis preferably using SAS
-Very organized with strong attention to detail
-Demonstrated writing skills: reports, presentations, and/or protocols
-Excellent attention to detail and strong formatting skills using the Microsoft Office  
 
 
-Understanding of public health, preferably including global HIV/AIDS
-Basic GIS skills
