General Description
The purpose of this position is to oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of packages for faculty, students and staff. They will assist with all incoming and outgoing mail processes, student packages, University mailboxes and counter services.
Essential Job Duties
1. Assist with window services including the sale of stamps, envelopes and delivery of packages
2. Receive, sort, and box mail and packages;
3. Receive outgoing packages to be shipped out UPS and FED EX;
4. Respond to faculty, staff, and students regarding delivery services;
5. Prepare out-going mail and affix proper postage when necessary;
6. Pick up mail from city post office;
7. Assist with efficient distribution of supplies and materials within the warehouse and assist with set-up operations accordingly;
8. Operate an electronic inventory scanner to receive and log incoming items and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments;
9. Distributes materials, tools, or other stock items to fill requests using work orders and the inventory system;
10. Receive, sort, scan, and deliver mail & packages;
11. Provides material handling activities necessary to bring material from the warehouse or prepare finished goods for shipping;
12. Assists with stocking and charging items in the warehouse;
13. Assists with parcel shipping and receiving activities; assuring proper distribution of materials and signs off on behalf of the University accepting shipment of goods;
14. Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, color, or product code; label materials with identifying information;
15. Operate forklift for freight deliveries;
16. Assist the custodial department with supply deliveries as needed;
17. Assume duties for mail service coordinator and warehouse foreman when absent;
18. Respond to customers via email, fax, and telephone;
19 Follow all university safety and accident procedures while on University premises or operating university vehicles or equipment;
20. Perform basic housekeeping and maintenance of warehouse and equipment;
21. Ensure that health and safety requirements are met and ensure the security of the building and stock;
22. Receive and track deliveries from UPS, FED-EX, and LTL (freight).
Additional Duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs;
Ability to operate a fork lift (daily) and scissor lift (occasionally);
Strong communication and customer service skills;
Strong interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
The educational requirement for this position is: Completion of high school/GED
