Full-time Job Announcement

Position: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Facilities

Reports to: Executive Director of Facilities

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Sort mail and small packages and deliver to each mail location and pick up outgoing mail.
  • Stamp outgoing mail and deliver to post office each day.
  • Order postage for meter.
  • Ship all packages; prepare all paperwork for returns and call for return authorization if needed.
  • Receive all incoming packages; verify all items received and compare with packing slips or invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and sign when complete.
  • Deliver large packages.
  • Maintain a file of all receiving copies of purchase orders and a book of purchase order numbers with the dates that the purchase orders were received and the date that the purchase order was set up for payment.
  • Keep a file of all delivery tickets such as packing slips and returns.
  • Resolve shipping and receiving problems, damaged goods during shipping, wrong items shipped, returns, lost, etc.
  • Maintain accurate key inventory for all campus buildings to include updating all key records, conducting key box audits and processes all approved key requests.
  • Coordinate all President, Cashier and Facilities motor fleet vehicles maintenance service appointments and car washes.
  • Maintain accurate motor fleet records for all fleet vehicles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience and/or education relating to the preparation and processing of outgoing mail and packages for delivery or shipment, including activities such as sealing, sorting, weighing and/or applying proper postage rates and classification.
