Sheet Metal Fabricator/HVAC Technician

Journeyman level skills and certifications in welding, metal fabrication and repair.
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision, and with diverse populations.
• Ability to direct the work of other technicians, as well as student employees.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Basic computer skills in AutoCAD, MS Office software, email, and web applications.
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures on HVAC systems.

Fifteen years relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding

PREFERRED:
•Experience designing and building custom handrails from round and square stock, including stainless steel and galvanized steel.
• Formal education and certifications in MIG, TIG, and oxy acetylene welding preferred
• Experience working in all weather conditions and confined spaces
• Formal education and/or experience creating fabrication designs in AutoCAD software preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree in HVAC, Process Tech, or welding, or an equivalent combination of training, licensure, and experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Additional Details:
To be considered for a CT3 position, applicants must have master level or equivalent certification in a specialized field sheet metal fabrication and welding; or a minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Details:

This is a range recruitment for a CT2 or CT3 position based on the qualifications and experience of the selected finalist.

Salary Information: CT2/Step 1 $27.40/hr. or CT3/Step 1 $30.87/hr  (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Wage Grade Schedule ).
