The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.

The University System of Georgia (USG) Shared Service Center (SSC) provides administrative and transactional support to 26 higher education institutions across the University System of Georgia, as well as the Board of Regents. We are committed to pursuing service excellence and innovation in all aspects of our operations. As part of our mission, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for our Summer Internship program. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic environment while contributing to the advancement of higher education in Georgia.

  • Assist USG Shared Service Center staff with a wide range of administrative tasks and projects.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with departmental teams to support ongoing initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Assist in query writing and SQL to extract and analyze data for various operational purposes.
  • Gain experience in payroll processing activities, including data entry, verification, and reconciliation.
  • Provide HR transactional support and record maintenance.
  • Offer front-end support to users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical assistance.
  • Participate in form automation projects, streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of reports, presentations, and other materials as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a University System of Georgia institution.
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • This position requires intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • This position requires intermediate skill in data analytics, reporting and visualization.
  • Interest in gaining experience in payroll processing, HR transactional support, and front-end support.
  • Familiarity with form automation tools and processes, or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Passion for higher education and a desire to make a positive impact within the university community.
