SFS R2T4 Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring that all R2T4 calculations and activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner per federal regulations. The R2T4 Specialist is expected to be knowledgeable regarding regulations pertaining to eligibility for all Title IV programs, especially regulations relating to the R2T4 process.
This position is hybrid and will be required to come into the office 2 days a week, our offices are located in Minneapolis, MN and Chantilly, VA.

  • Accurately perform Return to Title IV calculations and associated decisions.
  • Ensure students are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for adhering to the financial aid and R2T4 policies, requirements, and procedures.
  • Provide superior customer service and efficiency in response to campus, student and staff inquiries.
  • Stay informed and responsive to new and updated program regulations.
  • Develop proficiency and become a subject matter expert in financial aid processing and procedures to include return to Title IV programs, grant administration, and Strayer tuition assistance.
  • Provide on the job training for new team members.
  • Promote a work environment that is positive, student-centered, and compliant with established policies and procedures.
  • Support cooperative cross-functional, cross-regional communications and dialogue by maintaining a close working relationship with campus teams, regional teams, Bursar, Internal Audit, and related groups.
  • Work independently and provides regular status updates to management regarding R2T4 process.
  • Ensure the security of financial aid applications, documents, systems, and students’ identifiable information
  • Effectively use information to identify and escalate issues as needed.
  • Assume responsibility to prioritize emerging issues, handle concurrent objectives and meet deadlines
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

  • N/A

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of financial aid processing experience desired.

Skills:

  • Ability to follow prescribed criteria and make decisions based on these criteria.
  • Develop proficiency in analyzing data and creating reports.
  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel
