Overview:  

We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer who will focus on applied data management activities that support software development for scientific data projects in the Earth, climate, and environmental sciences, such as the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Data Center (www.arm.gov). Particular focus will be on building workflows in ServiceNow and integrating those workflows into the broader ADC process. This position resides in the Earth Science Database Engineering and Informatics Group in the Earth Science Informatics Section, Environmental Science Division, Biological and Environmental Systems Science Directorate, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).  

 

As part of our team, you will work with the ADC software development team build and deploy capabilities through ServiceNow that enhance the ability of the ARM Data Center to provide data to researchers worldwide.

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • ServiceNow workflow development
  • ServiceNow Portal development
  • Integration of ServiceNow based tools with ARM Data Center processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A BS in computer science, information technology or a related discipline
  • 2+ years ServiceNow Development Experience
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript
  • Now Experience Framework experience is desirable.
  • Flow designer experience is desirable.
  • Performance Analytics experience is desirable.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with external REST services, with GraphQL experience desirable.
  • Experience working on Scrum/Agile projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
