Job Summary

University Housing Services is looking for graduate or undergraduate students to staff various service areas in our residence halls & apartments across campus. Responsibilities may include sorting mail and packages, assisting residents with keys, monitoring residential fitness centers, and ensuring the safety of our residents. Hours are from 5:50 am-Midnight 7 days a week.

Students will be trained and can be scheduled in any or all Service Area positions.

Front Desk:
- Greet and serve as the main point of contact for students, staff, faculty, and campus visitors
- Maintain an inventory of keys to student rooms and common areas
- Serve as a liaison between residence hall students, faculty, and staff
- Responsible for guest check in between 6am - Midnight
- Maintain accurate records of front desk equipment

Mailroom:
- Sort and distribute mail and log packages.

Fitness Centers:
- Track number of residents that utilize the fitness center.
- Wipe down fitness equipment.


Pay Rate

$14.00/hour


Preferred Qualifications

Students with Work Study are strongly preferred


Work Hours

Hours of service areas range from 5:50 AM - Midnight, seven days a week

-A Welcome Letter which includes Hiring Instructions will be sent to your ISU email account.

- All required Hiring Paperwork must be completed and approved before you can begin working.

- You will be required to purchase a UHS Uniform Shirt

- After a candidate is hired they will receive two emails to their ISU email address from [email protected] regarding Ethics and Crime Reporting Training. Both are mandatory training required by the State of Illinois. Failure to complete the training can result in disciplinary action by the State of Illinois.
