Position Title Senior Video Communications Coordinator

Position Summary
The Senior Video Communications Coordinator leads the development of strategic video communication solutions to promote UIW and enhance storytelling for prospective students. Position is responsible for the preproduction, production, and postproduction phases of all video projects, including the development of graphics to enhance videos, as well as collaborating with UIW administrative offices to organize photoshoots. The Senior Video Communications Coordinator reports to Assistant Director of Digital Strategy & Marketing.

Description of Job Duties
  • Plan, create, shoot, direct, and edit, video and photography content to support enrollment initiatives.
  • Oversee video and photography projects.
  • Guide the Video Communication Coordinator with production of quality and engaging content for the Office of Admissions.
  • Collect and maintain a database of B-roll content for use on a wide range of projects.
  • Guide location scouting, staging, lighting, and direct set preparation.
  • Maintain video and audio equipment and propose new equipment that helps meet the needs of production.
  • Maintain library of video and photo assets.
  • Maintain visual content management for the University’s virtual tours.
  • Lead video shoot set up and breakdown, and photography, training for team.

Description of Job Duties
  • Create and utilize graphics in admissions marketing and in videos to enhance messaging, present the University brand to solicit admissions options.
  • Adhere to web accessibility best practices in digital presentation.
Job Duty Name Collaboration With Internal/External Partners
Description of Job Duties
  • Collaborate with UIW administrative offices to reinforce the UIW brand through admissions publications and promotional items. Cooperate with third-party vendors, online aggregators, and partners to keep purchased and organic messaging/listings accurate.
  • Collaborate with internal team to develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, internal processes, and deliverables and ensure timelines are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with respective departments to create audio ads and content.
  • Identify and implement new editing and storytelling technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on video content production and post-production processes, providing support to the Strategy & Enrollment division’s scope projects.
  • Set the tone for the video expectations, providing lead direction, offering guidance, instruction and training to the Video Communications Coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Superior skills with video production including Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom and other editing equipment.
  • Strong skills with sound systems for shooting video indoors/outdoors and multiple styles.
  • Expert level in photography, lighting, and editing software.
  • Proven video and digital graphics skills with knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator.
  • Ability to learn and produce audio ads and content.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, manage and meet goals/project deliverables with a detail-oriented work style.
  • Ability to meet short deadlines while thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven social media management experience using specialized video formats for an organization or business.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree. Note that up to two (2) years of additional experience will be considered for two (2) years of education on a year for year basis.
Required Work Experience
Five (5) years of experience in photography, videography, or related communications position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Photography, Marketing or related field.
  • Higher education work experience.
  • Master’s Degree.
  • FAA Drone Certification.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with occasional evening and weekends to meet departmental nees.
Physical Demands
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs of equipment to use with or without a tripod, as well as general transportation of videography equipment.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively shoot video, as well as attend meetings on and off campus. 
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to set-up and shoot video.
