Department Summary
The Senior Vice Provost position will be housed under the Office of the Provost and reports directly to the Deputy Provost. This office is committed to promoting academic excellence at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Salary Information Commensurate with experience
Position Summary
The Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs reports to the Deputy Provost and will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic environment and fostering the professional development of our faculty members. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the success, engagement, and advancement of our esteemed faculty. Furthermore, this highly visible role works collaboratively across the organization and externally to enhance the health science center, its schools and programs.
Minimum Qualifications
• A terminal degree and Qualification for Full Professor with tenure.
• Significant experience in academic leadership, preferably in a senior faculty affairs role or Dean role.
• Proven track record of successful faculty development and mentorship.
• Strong understanding of tenure and promotion processes.
• Commitment to fostering a values-based culture.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience overseeing online program development, faculty services and professional development programs.
• Experience in strategically planning and managing resources (e.g. financial, personnel, facility, technology, etc.), to achieve strategic priorities.
• Experience in Leadership development programming.
• Experience in personnel management.
• Experience understanding federal and state legislation and compliance issues that impact delivery of educational services.
