The Senior Vice President of Business & Finance, Chief Business Officer (CBO), and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves in a strategic role reporting directly to the president and serves as a member of the president's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and cabinet. The SVPB&F is the university's chief business strategist and executive responsible for all aspects of the non-academic business, administrative, and finance operations of the university under the guidance of the president and in collaboration with other members of the SLT. Responsible for providing vision, leadership and oversight for all functions of Facilities, Real Estate, Budget Office, Financial Services, Legal Affairs, Human Resources, Public Safety, Auxiliary Services, Information Technology, and Compliance. Serve as officer on boards of affiliated organizations.

  • Executive responsible for all aspects of non-academic business, administration and finance operations under the guidance of the president and in collaboration with other members of the SLT. Represents the university as the Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Lead the strategy, planning, budgeting, daily leadership, policy oversight, operations and supervision of all B&F units and operations.  Leads a team of staff, inspiring productive individual and team efforts in achieving stated goals. Ensures all units are operating at optimal business efficiency and providing best-in-class customer service to our employees and students. 
  • Advises the President on strategic planning and management issues related to the administrative and operational effectiveness of the university. Partners with senior leadership, president's cabinet and deans as a thought partner to develop, implement, and assess business operations in support of academics and student success.  Develops, integrates, and leverages data, data tools, artificial intelligence and data trend analysis to drive decision making and planning. 
  • Leads the annual budget and planning process and seeks alignment of resources to strategy. In collaboration with university leaders, establishes appropriate operational budgets for areas of responsibility. Works collaboratively with university leaders on the preparation of the university's annual budget; participates in the development of long and short term budget guidelines, and analysis of capital and operating fund requirements  Provides financial oversight, monitors, and controls assigned program budgets and expenditures. Full responsibility over the operational budget for Business & Finance. 
  • Oversees capital and campus planning efforts. Ensures that campus and facility planning supports student success, as well as the strategic aspirations and instructional mission of the university. Serves as primary university liaison to the Real Estate Foundation Board.
  • Establishes relationships with local, state and federal entities regarding coordination of respective operations; functions as liaison to the University System of Georgia (USG) office. Works to foster positive and mutually beneficial community relationships with the university. Serves as officer on boards of affiliated organizations. Oversees compliance with state and federal requirements, including supervising relations with state auditors, coordinating state appropriation requests and developing information required by staffs of state agencies and legislature. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 
  • Master's Degree in Business or relevant field.
  • 10+ years senior level experience, preferably in higher education and within the University System of Georgia (USG).
