We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Senior Turf Technician in our Grounds department. This position performs routine and preventative field maintenance and general grounds duties. Hourly pay for this position is $17.32/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform janitorial duties of fields, fencing, common areas, amenities, parking lots and other areas.
- Plan and implement annual renovation projects.
- Use Integrated Pest Management Techniques in accordance with Indiana State Chemist.
- Perform snow removal and ensures campus safety.
- Perform routine, preventative maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
- Maintain and oversee inventory of supplies and recommend orders.
- Supervise and train temporary workers.
- This position assists with special events and may require overtime.
- This position is on 24-hour callback for emergencies.
Required Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years of experience with grounds maintenance.
- 3b and 3a Pesticide Applicators license.
- Knowledge of equipment in the maintenance, repair and renovation of athletic facilities.
- The ability to read chemical labels and read material safety data sheets (SDS).
- The ability to calibrate spray and fertilizing equipment.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
- This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move 50 to 80 pounds frequently, and up to 100 + pounds occasionally.
