Senior Turf Technician

We are currently seeking a full-time and onsite Senior Turf Technician in our Grounds department. This position performs routine and preventative field maintenance and general grounds duties. Hourly pay for this position is $17.32/hr.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform janitorial duties of fields, fencing, common areas, amenities, parking lots and other areas. 
  • Plan and implement annual renovation projects. 
  • Use Integrated Pest Management Techniques in accordance with Indiana State Chemist.
  • Perform snow removal and ensures campus safety.
  • Perform routine, preventative maintenance and cleaning of vehicles.
  • Maintain and oversee inventory of supplies and recommend orders.
  • Supervise and train temporary workers.
  • This position assists with special events and may require overtime. 
  • This position is on 24-hour callback for emergencies.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • At least 4 years of experience with grounds maintenance.
  • 3b and 3a Pesticide Applicators license.
  • Knowledge of equipment in the maintenance, repair and renovation of athletic facilities.
  • The ability to read chemical labels and read material safety data sheets (SDS). 
  • The ability to calibrate spray and fertilizing equipment. 
  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
  • This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move 50 to 80 pounds frequently, and up to 100 + pounds occasionally.
