The OU Learning and Organizational Development (L&OD) department is looking for two qualified applicants to join our team as Senior Trainers. These positions play a pivotal role in implementing and expanding our current course offerings and programs for staff on our three campuses. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy utilizing a variety of instructional techniques, consulting with departments, coordinating program cohorts, and offering engaging learning and development experiences.

Duties:

  • Develops and facilitates customized learning workshops, retreats, and team-building experiences for groups. 
  • Facilitates workshops using a variety of instructional techniques, follows adult learning principles, monitors and evaluates training program effectiveness, develops and updates content materials, and engages with communities of practice.
  • Facilitates learning, develops curricula, and evaluates delivery methods , materials, and outcomes to continually improve learner experience and outcomes.
  • Evaluates innovative learning and development methods and best practices to incorporate into existing offerings and to address organizational capabilities.
  • Serves as a departmental consultant. ​​​​​​​​​​​

This position may be eligible for 3 days a week hybrid/remote work arrangement following the completion of 30 calendar days of employment. 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Relations, Psychology, Education, AND:

  • 48 months of training-related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of learning methods and techniques
  • Ability to speak clearly, concisely and effectively
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas as presented verbally
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships
  • Effective presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to effectively research training subjects and find new sources of information
  • Ability to work with people in a manner showing sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to train and coach individuals and groups
  • Ability to learn from subject matter experts and train on new subjects

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods.  Use of computer and telephone. Ability to engage in repetitive motions.  Communicate effectively and listen.
  • Environmental: Standard Office Environment.  Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Requires contact with employees, other departments, and University officials.
