Position Summary
This position works at Siteman Cancer Center on the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Team. The EDI Team works collaboratively within and outside of WUSM to improve EDI practices, and assists in achieving cancer equity through our care, research and prevention. The successful applicant will become a crucial member of the Cancer Center’s effort to establish a plan to enhance diversity. The ideal candidate should be capable of spearheading independent projects and effectively balance multiple initiatives, in addition to provide collaborative support, protocol optimization, and troubleshooting. The EDI component is a newly formed team at Siteman Cancer Center, so this is a fantastic opportunity for scientific growth and potential publications.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Using strong interpersonal communication skills, effectively consults and coordinates with people from all professional and socio-demographic backgrounds, within and outside of academia, showing sensitivity to varying needs and situations of stakeholders
  • Consistently evaluates the needs of a project and the available resources, and identifies strategies to meet the needs, even when resources are scarce or changing.
  • Advises and assists investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies.
  • Performs data analysis and/or data management using the latest and best methodologies as implemented in statistical packages (SAS) including generation of tables and graphs.
  • Assists in database design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting.
  • May assist in design and development of data entry systems.
  • Functions as an expert statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.
  • Assumes major/exclusive responsibilities on large projects.
  • Assists investigators by preparing publication quality material including sections for manuscripts and grants.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in statistics, computer science or related field.
  • Expert knowledge base and experience with SAS and high degree of proficiency in data analysis and data management.
  • PC/UNIX knowledge.
  • Skills and demonstrated success in designing and executing appropriate statistical data analysis.
  • Capable of assuming a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organization skills.


Required Qualifications

  • Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of related experience.

Salary Range
$63,900.00 - $109,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
