Senior Statistical Data Analyst - Infectious Diseases

Position Summary
Performs innovative data analysis and/or data management for investigators using statistical software packages. Assists investigators in the design of epidemiological studies. May be required to assume major responsibility on large projects.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs data management and/or data analysis for investigators using a variety of data (administrative claims data, EHR data) and statistical software packages (SAS or R).
• Generates results including data visualizations.
• Advises and assists investigators in the design of epidemiological studies.
• May function as a statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.
• Assumes major/exclusive responsibilities on large projects.
• May train/supervise Statistical Data Analyst level staff.
• Assists investigators by preparing publication quality material including sections for manuscripts or grants.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s preferred in statistics, epidemiology, computer science, or related field.
• Experience in biomedical and/or clinical studies desirable.
• Expert knowledge base and experience with SAS or R and high degree of proficiency in data analysis and data management.
• Skills and demonstrated success in designing and executing appropriate statistical data analyses.
• Capable of working independently.
• Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated organization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and prioritize time-sensitive deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of related experience.

Salary Range
$62,000.00 - $106,000.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
