The Department of Biostatistics is a very busy and diverse department focused on research and teaching. Our 70+ faculty are leaders in the development of statistical methods for clinical trials and observational studies, studies on the environment, computational biology, and genomics/genetics. We offer degree programs in biostatistics, computational biology and data science; currently, more than 180 students are enrolled in these programs.

The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Python
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with AWS
  • Experience in at least two of the following languages: Java, Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C
  • Experience with at least the following AWS technologies: S3, EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk
  • Experience with the open source Beiwe research platform a plus
  • Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software and equipment
  • Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and experience acting as a trusted advisor
  • Experience with meeting deadlines and working cooperatively in a collaborative team preferred
