You will perform qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties during chemical syntheses, or drug product development process.

You will be forecasting and planning resource requirements for your project team. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently. You will undertake mentoring activities to guide team members.

How You Will Achieve It

  • This colleague will serve as an LC separation subject matter expert in the Analytical Research and Development organization.
  • Develop and troubleshoot analytical-scale LC-UV-MS methods in support of pharmaceutical molecules.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on LC method development and troubleshooting activities.
  • Use chromatographic retention prediction tools to accelerate development speed and ensure method robustness and transferability.
  • Develop novel separation platforms and modeling technologies to advance separation capabilities.
  • Perform lab work, delegate responsibilities, and review peer lab work as appropriate.
  • Present data at team meetings and be actively involved in solving technical challenges that arise during development.
  • Collaborate with and mentor peers as well as effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare technical reports, critically review data, and may evaluate new instrumentation and analytical techniques/approaches.
  • Be proficient with a wide variety of software and information systems and have the curiosity to continue learning new techniques to solve complex analytical problems.
  • Be proficient with a breadth of relevant methodologies such as, chromatography, spectroscopy and mass spectrometry with expertise in one or more of these techniques.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or related field, with 0+ years of relevant industrial experience
  • Fundamental understanding of separation science
  • Demonstrated ability to meet timelines with minimal supervision and interact with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and solve complex analytical problems.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including visualization of data and drafting reports.
  • Experience with a wide variety of software and information systems.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • -Experience in the pharmaceutical industry space.
  • Experience with LC-UV or LC-MS based method development and validation.
  • Experience with two-dimensional liquid chromatography.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic retention prediction modeling theories, approaches, and modeling software tools.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform calculations and data analysis is required.
  • This role requires use of laboratory equipment.

Work Location Assignment:On Premise

On Premise colleagues work in a Pfizer site because it's needed to get their job done. They may have flexibility to work remotely from time to time, but they are primarily on-site.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $88,300.00 to $147,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
