INTERNAL SEARCH (SEARCH EXTENDED)

The Institute for Health Research and Policy is seeking two Senior Research Specialists to work in a cross-collaborative center who engage in health risk reduction intervention projects.  These are grant-funded positions (one full-time (100% and one part-time 80% FTE)).  The Senior Research Specialist positions will have the opportunity to participate in other related research projects as well.  These positions will be responsible for the following duties: develop and create research methodologies associated with aims of the grant; recruit, screen, and consent research participants; analyze study data and manage and maintain the collection efforts associated with it; ensure data integrity and report on findings with the Principal Investigator; supervise and train research staff on performing data collection interviews with participants, including demographic, lifestyle, dietary and psychosocial data via surveys and interviews as well as the collection and processing of bio-specimen data; ensure data collection efforts adhere to study protocols and that the research follows strict IRB regulations associated with the aims of the project and the involvement of participants; act as a liaison with the IRB; comply with funding agency guidelines following research protocols and submitting annual research progress reports through each stage of the grant; perform quality control measures to meet the changing aims of the grant and adjust study guidelines and methodologies as required throughout the lifecycle of the project while ensuring that study expenditures follow the initial plans from the funding agency as well as other related duties as assigned.  A Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science preferred along with a minimum of 5 years related research experience as well as possessing and applying a comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices, and methods.
