Performs research on designing and developing high-performance and scalable design of MPI components with support for MPI+OpenMP and PGAS programming models on modern networks and clusters with multi-core, GPGPUs and coprocessors, implementing these solutions in MVAPICH2 software library, testing and validating these solutions on modern clusters with a range of applications and the underlying software library, and carrying out performance and scalability studies on various clusters; works in a team environment together with other graduate and undergraduate students and staff members working in Dr. Panda’s group; writes and submits research publications (to conferences, journals and workshops) along the above-mentioned research directions with the team members; works closely with Dr. Panda in defining new research directions and writing research proposals.

Doctorate in computer and information science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; extensive experience in high-performance computing, cluster computing, high-performance networking, Message Passing Interface (MPI) and OpenMP standards, PGAS programming models, GPGPUs and coprocessors, performance evaluation, scalability studies, and parallel applications.
Experience in writing research publications and presenting them at research forums (conferences and workshops).
