Job Description Summary: | The Biostatistics Center (BSC) of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The Biostatistics Center serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies funded by federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health. The Biostatistics Center is a leader in the statistical coordination of major medical research programs of national and international scope. Visit our website at: www.bsc.gwu.edu . The Biostatistics Center is seeking a part-time Sr. Research Assistant to work at a data coordinating center for clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. A Sr. Research Assistant assists members of a team of academic Biostatisticians and Epidemiologists who collaborate in the conduct of major clinical trials and epidemiologic studies. Essential duties include: -Assisting statisticians in assembling and maintaining complex data sets using SAS or R. -Performing data analysis under supervision of senior statisticians. -Maintaining reporting systems using SAS. -Assist in the creation of programming analyses related macros using SAS or R. -Performing data management (auditing, editing & analysis) and quality control of study databases. -Assisting in the development of analytical plans for addressing selected research questions. -Documenting any new processes and procedures created in the above tasks. -Conducting literature searches as needed. -Contribute to portions of abstracts, posters, reports and manuscripts for major publications in leading health, medical and other journals and presentations of results. -Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |
