Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is searching for a Senior Registered Dietitian to enhance our Comprehensive Care Clinic. The  candidate will focus on GI Disorders and treatment plans, working alongside Gastroenterology and Transition Medicine physicians. The ideal candidate will provide  comprehensive and detailed nutrition education and care plans to patients and families in an outpatient clinic setting and serve as an expert resource to the multi-disciplinary medical team.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will be sensitive to patients needs and able to work with multi-disciplinary teams and caretakers.

 

This position is located at the McNair Campus.


Job Duties
  • Intake dietitian referrals, working directly with providers 
  • Scheduling and directing the activities of diet aides
  • Develops menus for patients for treatment plan per MD recommendations 
  • Analyzes nutrient intake of diets 
  • Provides nutrition assessments and nutrition education for patients
  • Orders and purchases food and equipment as needed
  • Develop nutrition education materials as needed
  • Participate in education of medical providers, and the community as requested and appropriate. 
  • Collaborates with the GI, Transition Medicine, General Internal Medicine , and other Medicine providers as appropriate to ensure the continuum of care for the patient and optimal clinical services and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience. 
  • Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the American Dietetic Association and a Licensed Dietitian by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
