Senior Radiologic Technologist - SMOG

The Senior Radiologic Technician (Sr CRT) acts as a resource for the Cedars Sinai Medical Care Foundation radiology sites.  The CRT Lead supports patient care by performing x-rays as directed by clinician for diagnostic purposes.  Demonstrates proficiency with the use of x-ray equipment and associated procedures.  Additionally, this position performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The responsibilities of this position are concurrent with CSMCF guidelines.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills as a CRT.
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures, positioning patients on the examining table and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum views of specific body area as ordered by clinician.
  • Perform procedures based on established technique chart using independent judgement to support the radiological orders
  • Follows standardized imaging practices and protocols
  • Exhibits working knowledge and relationships with other departments as it relates to radiological services.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of patient care flow and insurance concepts.
  • Uses appropriate technique charts and assures markers are set appropriately
  • Demonstrates ability to work in multiple x-ray sites performing needed studies
  • Demonstrates ability to retrieve studies from PACS for review and assists with quality assurance.
  • Maintains needed logs for QC based on manufacturer recommendation
  • Provides patient education as pertains to requested studies
  • Reviews dosimeter reports monthly.
  • Performs appropriate infection controls processes.
  • Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting CRTs, and Limited XT staff and guides accordingly.

Educational Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Vocational/Techinical Disploma or Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Licenses:

  • BLS from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross
  • Imaging CA Radiologic Tech License required
  •  American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred
  • Certification from Board Approved Medical Assistant Organization, Preferred 

Experience:

  • 3-years Minimal experience working as a X-Ray Technician in a clinical setting required
  • 1-year Working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting preferred
