The Senior Project Manager is responsible for a portfolio of projects geared towards new initiatives, and improving the patient care process and overall operations of Orthopedics, including projects focused on improvement of quality, provider and patient satisfaction, and efficiency. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will manage special projects assigned by the Departmental Chair to achieve departmental objectives, including analyzing data, developing proformas for new initiatives and ensuring program activities are completed in a high quality and timely manner, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines. The Senior Project Manager will act as an internal liaison for performance improvement programs, working with stakeholders to identify and support opportunities to improve organizational performance. This is a wage position for 8 to 10 hours per week, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
The ideal candidate will be well-rounded and versatile, possessing strong project management, analytical, collaborative, and communication skills, and will be enthusiastic about improving health care delivery.

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project(s) to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.  Alters plans and makes recommendations for future project phases or future projects, based on lessons learned from the project. 
  • Works with leadership to develop a project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding impact, procedures for accomplishing project(s), etc.
  • Develop, manage, and support projects to improve performance on relevant measures, patient and care team satisfaction, and workflow efficiency.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate strategic approaches for engaging providers and staff in data and performance, including determination of areas for improvement and additional quality related activities.
  • Lead work groups and presentations to understand ongoing project needs, status, and level of involvement, additional resources needed to develop strategies and execute plans of action.
  • Lead improvement projects by demonstrating both strategic thinking and ability to execute tactically.
  • Lead meaningful change and process effectiveness through continuous focus, process improvement, and frequent bidirectional communication.
  • Act as a liaison, on an ongoing and as needed basis, on the provider bonus plan, EPIC template/workflow adjustments and other performance improvement initiatives.
  • Work with management to monitor performance on relevant quality measures and identify opportunities for improvement, and effectively and regularly communicate reporting on performance measures
  • Identify data-driven opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to creating new processes, and determine the appropriate operational focus/course of action to achieve goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for process document creation.
  • Provide assistance as needed for development of projects and work plans.
  • Clearly manage issues and communicate resolutions.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master’s degree in health administration, public administration, business administration, industrial engineering or a related field required. 
Experience: 5+ years of experience in clinical, financial and/or operational management, with direct involvement in project management and or productivity aspects (or) an equivalent.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
