Job Description:

The Senior Programmer assesses the technology needs of courses taught in the Computer Science (CS) Department, develops requirements, and participates in the delivery of software and systems.  The incumbent will work closely with faculty, teaching assistants (TAs) and IT staff to identify technology solutions to the pedagogical and infrastructure needs of CS courses, and collaboratively build, deploy, and maintain software and systems that meet those needs.  They will also act as a liaison between instructors, TAs and staff.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • 2-3 years of relevant programming experience
  • strong analysis skills
  • demonstrated code development abilities
  • demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • interest in instructional technology preferred
  • excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
  • knowledge of web programming and unix shell programming
  • knowledge of cloud-based ed-tech tools such as Gradescope and Top Hat
  • knowledge of DevOps concepts and methods
