Department Summary
Digital Growth (DG) is responsible for building and growing the UNT Online brand and helping students connect with world-class education opportunities wherever they are. The DG department created and maintains online.unt.edu which serves as the aggregate website for all online programs offered at UNT. DG also offers strategic marketing, recruitment, and research services and works closely with academic partners to find innovative growth opportunities for current and potential new programs.
Position Overview
This position supports web properties through conception to project completion, including design, layout, and functionality and coding. Responsibilities include the translation of UX (user experience) documents, business requirements and/or wireframes into professionally designed, fully functional web properties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in computing or information systems and five years of progressively responsible computer programming and analysis experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate knowledge of the methods and equipment used in electronic data processing, including system analysis and design, and computer programming techniques.
• Strong skill in writing programs for computer applications.
• Strong skill in analyzing and solving complex data processing and computing problems.
• Ability to coordinate a work team and train lower level programmers and analysts for specific tasks or assignments.
• Ability to communicate technical and other information to a variety of stakeholders.

Physical Requirements

Job Duties


o

Provides the visual aesthetics, code development and technical support for high profile university web properties by using standard HTML/CSS/content management system best practices. Develop content, create graphics, digitize pictures, and insert audio and video. Develops digital prototypes or mockups utilizing graphic editing software.

o

Gathers or develops site specifications or requirements as needed. Coordinates with web content specialists/information architects, marketing specialists and clients to develop web content and layout strategy. Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to accomplish goals.

o

Utilizes the university content management systems to create or setup site functionality based on business requirements. Translate UX (user experience) documents, business requirements and/or wireframes into professionally designed, fully functional web properties.

o

Oversees and develops marketing emails to support recruitment campaigns.

o

Ensures web projects adhere to accessibility, usability and industry best practices.

o

Provides end-user support and technical training.

o

Other duties as requested.
