Senior Programmer Analyst

The Data Analysis and Coordination Center (DACC) for a large, multi-center cohort study of men and women with HIV is seeking a Sr. Programmer Analyst to contribute as part of a team to develop the study’s database-driven website using ASP.NET framework. This will involve configuring and improving existing systems, as well as remediating cyber security vulnerabilities.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build IIS web applications using C#, JavaScript, and technologies of ASP.NET framework on Windows OS.
  • Produce web design and architecture in ASP.NET framework.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy applications using ASP.NET.
  • Microsoft SQL and Access database programming.
  • Revise, update, refactor, and debug codes.
  • Improve existing database-driven website.
  • Provide technical support to end users by troubleshooting website issues and being an applications expert.
  • Work closely with project managers to identify user requirements and create specifications.
  • Analyze the system and execute tests on the usability and performance.
  • Perform ongoing QA/QC for validating and optimizing the current system.
  • Ensure database and website security.
  • Upgrade the website by implementing and maintaining system security controls.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and data dictionaries.
  • Conduct peer reviews to evaluate current processes and apply coding standards.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid working experience as an ASP.NET Developer with C#, JavaScript.
  • Microsoft SQL server skills, experience with SQL and Access databases (e.g., Triggers, Procedures, and Jobs scheduled).
  • Familiarity with .NET framework, design/architectural patterns, jQuery, XML, ASP, and Adobe Photoshop, architecture stylesheet.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tier Applications, VBA (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook), and VB Script (e.g., Macros, Templates, and Forms).
  • Basic Windows System Administration knowledge.
  • Experience with cyber security vulnerability remedies.
  • Excellent web program troubleshooting skills.
  • HTML, HTML5, SQL, MS SQL Server, Relational database, ASP.NET, Classic ASP, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON, Ajax, Web API, ACASI, web/network security, web server, Dynamic web design.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Must be a team player with the ability to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related Work Experience.
  • Two years related experience.
  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
