Position Summary:


Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks a dynamic team member to serve as the inaugural Sr. Program Coordinator of the Student Employee Enrichment (SEE) Program within the Office of Career Exploration and Success. SEE is an expansion and retooling of the current On-Campus Work Experience Network that will serve all campus Federal Work-Study Students. This program will be designed and implemented to incorporate meaningful professional development into on-campus student employment experiences across the Rutgers—New Brunswick campus. This includes helping students understand the connections between their work experiences, academics, and future career goals and better understand, develop, and articulate the career readiness competencies that employers seek. The assistant director will also lead the student employment career community advisory board comprised of campus partners, employers, and students. This position reports to the Associate Director of Internships & Professional Development.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Chairs a student-employee career community advisory board to develop, implement, and maintain the SEE Program, promoting the integration of NACE Competencies into on-campus student employment.
  • Develops opportunities for students to reflect on experiences, articulate skills, and plan and executes a yearly celebration during National Student Employment Week.
  • Creates a comprehensive training process for supervisors of student employees, outlining expectations of the SEE program and promoting meaningful on-campus interactions.
  • Conducts workshops/seminars at the onset of each academic year, establishing a Performance Appraisal Process with goal-setting meetings and check-ins.
  • Encourages on-campus employers to post positions on Rutgers Handshake.
  • Provides direct service delivery to students through individual/group appointments, assisting them in navigating career journeys, exploring pathways, and developing skills.
  • Assists CES colleagues with planning and executing in-person/virtual programs, including presenting career-related content in courses, supporting high-impact programming, and engaging in other departmental endeavors as needed.
  • Participates in administrative meetings and working groups, engages in departmental professional development opportunities, and performs other assigned duties.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function.

Salary: Maximum salary - $69,000 commensurate with experience.
