Job Summary

Provide high-level support to Associate Head for Research, Biomedical Engineering (BME) Seminar Series coordinator, and other faculty as requested. Serve as secondary support for BME Department Head. Help plan and organize workshops and symposiums led by BME core faculty, as well as provide logistical support to ensure their successful running. Facilitate organization of external visitors (including alumni, donors, prospective faculty, corporate visitors and collaborative researchers). Make independent judgement decisions and execute initiative in performance of duties.

What We Are Looking For

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Three (3) years of clerical/secretarial/administrative experience    

 

SKILLS:
REQUIRED:

  • Must be skilled in word processing, e-mail, and oral and written communication
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve, and have a demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be a “team player”
  • Ability to use the internet as resource tool and knowledge of University structure and function
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Word processing skills
  • Ability to work under short deadlines
  • Must be willing to perform a variety of tasks with equal enthusiasm and accuracy
  • Must be capable of independent decision-making

  • This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standing
